COVID-19 Statement

In line with Government  and British Pest Control Association guidance we have taken steps to adapt our current pest control service while under COVID-19 lockdown.

  1. Pest control routines where infestations are at high risk of recurrence or are a direct risk to public health will continue following the rules outlined below.

  2. Call-outs will be discussed over the phone initially, with photos requested to help identify the problem. We will then make an assessment of the situation and advise on whether a call-out is required.

Pest Control is classed as an ‘essential service’ in protecting public health, however we all have a responsibility to play our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and caring for those who are vulnerable.

With that in mind we have outlined the following rules that we hope will keep both clients and employees safe.

Dalgetty Pest Control COVID-19 Rules

  1. Please refrain where possible any face to face contact with us on call-outs or routine visits

  2. Please do not come any closer than 2 metres to any of our team, we want to keep our services running for the benefit of everyone.

  3. All employees have been issued with hand sanitiser, which pest technicians will use before & after each visit and they will be wearing disposable gloves throughout.

  4. All payments wherever possible need to be made by bank transfer rather than by cash or cheque

  5. External Work  - A lot of our work is carried outdoors on farms, in gardens and around warehouses. In these situations, we will get on with the job without chapping your door.  This is not us being rude, we just want to minimise contact where possible.

  6. Internal Work - If the infestation is classed as urgent and inside - we will take the following steps, but please don’t be alarmed.

    • We will use hand sanitiser before entrance to your property, and wear gloves as standard but we will also wear a mask throughout our visit

    •  We want to minimise time spent to your property - so from the moment of arrival if you could immediately point us in the direction of the issue but remain two metres away at all times.

Pest Control Reports

We are currently looking at transitioning to online reports however, in the meantime they will be completed as usual- please ensure they are left out visibly for us to complete. The food hygiene body has reminded us that check-ups are still taking place to protect public health from producers trying to cut corners and further putting pressure on the NHS.

YOUR HEALTH IS OUR PRIORITY

A small rodent problem, can lead to a large rodent problem very quickly if ignored. If you are concerned that you have an issue please contact us and we can discuss the best route forward.

Pest infestations can spread disease and cause dangerous destructions to property. It is important to keep on top of infestations so that they don’t cause increased pressures on the emergency services at this time.
