The Problem

How to get rid of Rats & Mice

There are three ways to get rid of rats and mice:

1. Live traps. These trap the animal alive. The down side of these is it is illegal to release rats or mice and they have to dispatched humanly by someone who is trained to do this.
2. Break back traps will also get rid of rats and mice for you and all you have to do is dispose of the carcase. But you do have to know where to set them and make sure non target species can't get caught in the traps.
3. Poisons you can also use poisons to get rid of rats and mice which are very effective. You do have to know what type to use and where to place them for them to be taken by the rats or mice. These should be kept in tamper proof bait boxes so non-target species (ie cats and dogs)can not get to the poisons. Any poisoned rat or mouse should be disposed of properly.
